Tripple Layered Chocolate cake with Vanilla Buttercream Frosting for Halloween
Happy Halloween guys. Hope you all are having a spooky day. I made this triple layered chocolate cake for kids today and it turned out Amazing. Simple and easy recipe with a little touch of spookiness in it 😃
Ingredients
For the cake :
- 2 3/4 cup gluten free flour
- 1 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1 1/2 cup brown sugar/ coconut sugar
- 3 large eggs - 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder unsweetened - 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda - 1 /2 tsp salt
- 1 3/4 cup milk - 1 1/2 tsp espresso powder
1 1/2 cup boiling water
For the frosting :
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened - 1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 to 2 tbsp milk
- 3 cups confectioners sugar
Eyeballs - Eyeball candy from @target - marshmallows
Method :
For the cake - Preheat oven to 350 deg F. Take three 8 inch cake pans and grease them properly. Now mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Sift it if necessary. In another bowl, with an electric mixer cream the butter and sugar till it’s fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time and whisk it well. Add milk to this mixture slowly and keep mixing. Now add hot water slowly and keep mixing it properly. At last add the dry ingredients and mix well. Mix it till all the ingredients have properly combined. Pour it in each pan in equal amounts. Bake it for 25-30 mins until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool completely.
Meanwhile, for the frosting, we combine sugar and butter with an electric mixer on low speed. Add vanilla and milk and beat it well. Gradually beat the mix till the mix is smooth and easily spreadable on the cake. When the cakes cool completely, frost the top of the cakes and then stack them evenly. Now frost the sides. Sift a layer of cocoa powder at the top. For the eye balls, make a hole in each marshmallow and put the eyeball candies inside them. Your Lovely cake is ready. Enjoy!
